Please note that only service animals are allowed on the Festival Grounds during Covered Bridge Festival. Service animals are allowed anywhere the public is allowed.
The Festival Grounds includes the courthouse square area and everything that is only accessible after paying for entry ($2.00 for adults, free for children 11 and under).
Service animals are animals that have been individually trained to do work or perform a task for the benefit of an individual with a disability.
The work of the animal must be directly related to the handler’s disability.
Emotional support and therapy animals are NOT covered under the guidelines of the ADA and are not allowed in the Festival.
Covered Bridge Festival personnel (gate volunteers, etc) cannot ask about the nature or extent of a person’s disability.
Covered Bridge Festival personnel may ask if the animal is required because of a disability, and what the animal has been trained to perform (if the function is not obvious).
Service animals shall be tethered, leashed or otherwise under control. If the animal is out of control and the owner takes no action, the owner will be asked to remove the animal from the festival.
The Covered Bridge Festival is not responsible for the care/supervision of service animals.
If there is a dispute at the gate about whether an animal is or is not allowed in, Winterset police and/or security will be called to the booth to settle it prior to entry.
