Hutchings-Wintrode House

Now a private residence, this historic home was built at 503 E. Jefferson in Winterset in 1866 by J.J. Hutchings, a well respected Madison County land agent, banker, and civic leader. It was known as the Hutchings-Wintrode Bed and Breakfast. Portrayed as Eagle Rock Hospital in the movie “Cold Turkey,” the home is now occupied by Bill and Shirley Roach, who for several years operated it as a bed and breakfast. It is historically painted in four Victorian colors and furnished in antiques.
