Tour at the Madison County Historical Complex

Madison County is Made for Group Tours!

We can tailor-make a tour for your group that can take an hour, a half day, a full day or an overnight visit. There is plenty to see and do in Madison County and all we need to know is what we can do to make your visit a success!

Coach at Roseman Bridge

We have the world-famous Bridges of Madison County—our “Storybook” tour will put a guide on your coach and provide non-stop entertainment as you tour the sites and learn about how the movie was made.

How about visiting the Birthplace of one of America’s true icons? Marion Morrison was born here in 1907—a humble beginning for the man who would become John Wayne.

Fons & Porter's Love of Quilting

One of the hottest crafting trends is quilting, and Winterset is home to two of the world’s most well known quilters, Marianne Fons and Liz Porter. Their company, Fons and Porter’s Love of Quilting, is based here in Winterset. What’s even better, a second quilt store, an old fashioned Ben Franklin, is just down the block with an awesome selection of quilting materials.

Are your guests history buffs? Madison County has one of the best historical complexes (right) in the Midwest. Fourteen historic buildings, as well as world-class exhibits await you and your group.

Howell Dried Floral

We can arrange for tours of a farm that creates dried floral arrangements (left), one of only five hot air balloon manufacturers in the world, or just make sure that when you stop in for lunch or dinner, they are ready for you.

Your guests can enjoy shopping the antique stores and unique gift shops on our quaint Courthouse Square and enjoy dining in one of our many restaurants.
