June 9, 2017: Ladies' Night Out
6pm to 9pm
Participating merchants around Winterset’s courthouse square host a special evening of shopping. The first 200 ladies to pre-register for this event receive a swag bag when they arrive at the Chamber of Commerce, and then enjoy an evening of deals, pampering, wine tasting, food samples, and much more. May 27-28, 2017: John Wayne Birthday Celebration
Actor/singer Johnny Crawford will be this year’s guest of honor at the 10th Anniversary John Wayne Birthday Celebration. Johnny starred in The Rifleman from 1958-63, and had the honor of ‘being shot’ by John Wayne in 1967’s El Dorado. Celebration activities include a benefit dinner, live music, an all-horse parade, a country barn dance, breakfast at the Winterset Firehouse, a 5K run/walk and more. July, 2017: Freedom Fest, Earlham
Celebrate Independence Day in Earlham! Take part in a street dance, a parade, a pancake breakfast, tons of contest (including watermelon-eating and bubble gum blowing!), and fireworks, to name just a few. More details coming soon.

Warm up with hot chocolate by the burn barrels, and take home fresh greenery and locally-made items!

From 11:00 am to 12:30 pm, come out to the Madison County Historical Complex for some fun with Santa Clause, photos, and cookie decorating. Complementary photos taken with Santa.
December 14, 2017: "Lights, Christmas, Action" Downtown Winterset
From 5:00 to 7:00 pm, participating stores around Winterset’s courthouse square will have live and in-motion holiday window displays, plus extended hours for your holiday shopping needs. There will also be lighted luminaries around the courthouse.
